It seems as though we’ve all been saying the same things this week. “I can’t believe we’re halfway done.” “It feels like I just got here yesterday.” “Time is flying by!” And this is all very true.  My experiences so far in D.C.

Welcome back to the Chronicles of a SPS Intern!

The Annual Meeting of The Society of Rheology is held in mid-October. The meetings ordinarily last three to four days and are open to both members and non-members. Every effort is made to stimulate and encourage fruitful discussion during the technical sessions, with 25 minutes normally allotted to the presentation and discussion of each paper. There are normally no more than four simultaneous sessions, and the program includes plenary lectures, special symposia, informal evening discussions, and instrument exhibits.

Zone Councilors, Associate Zone Councilors, SPS President, Sigma Pi Sigma President, SPS Staff and others gather in Washington, DC (annual event).

The American Astronomical Society is honored to be the host organization on behalf of the US astronomy community and the University of Hawaii's Institute for Astronomy for the XXIX General Assembly of the International Astronomical Union.

The ICPS stands for the International Conference of Physics Students, which is the main event of the IAPS, organized yearly by one of its member committees. The purpose of the conference is to create an opportunity for physics students to come together, to talk about science and life, to practice presenting their research and, all in all, to have a great time. The conference is entirely organised by physics students for physics students, and its official language is English.

The end of a hard week motioned in the beginning of a very full weekend. On Saturday, a couple interns and I made our way back down to the Nationals’ Stadium for DC’s annual beer and wine festival. Newly legal, I am a novice on the intricacies of craft beer.
