Now that I’m back in London and getting stuck in to my classes for this term, the excitement of DC seems a million miles away. Talking to all my friends about what they’ve been doing this summer, I do feel like I’m bragging a bit when I describe what a great experience I had.

My second week in DC has flown by, a huge amount of reading, quite a bit of writing and still managing to find some time to have fun!

It is very sad for me to say that the end of my internship has drawn to a close. I left on Wednesday to fly to Idaho where I proceeded to start a 4 day road trip with my dad all the way to Florida for my facilities training in grad school. On one hand it was sad that I had to leave.

The past two weeks working at the APS Policy Office have been incredibly informative. Tyler Glembo has been an wonderful teacher, and has shown me much more than what I knew in the world of Science Policy; and delving further, Science Education Policy.

This summer internship with the Society of Physics Students has been a wonderful experience. As a Mather Public Policy Intern, I not only learned how science policy is conducted at the national level but also furthered my career interests.

For my second week working for the Science Committee, I decided to create a photo blog to better illustrate what my duties are as an intern (available on the sidebar on the right).

Arriving late due to my school being on the quarter system, I hit the ground running. My first day of my internship included commuting with the other interns to the ACP (American Center of Physics) building in Maryland.
