The 4th USA Science & Engineering Festival, the largest and only NATIONAL science festival, features nationwide contests and school programs.

SPS volunteers and recruits volunteers for this event with other AIP member societies.

Each spring, thousands of high school physics students descend on Six Flags America in Bowie, MD and its gut-wrenching, free-falling, thrilling rides—and physics enthusiasts from across the Mid-Atlantic region are there to welcome them!

Consider volunteering for this fun event—details will be posted here as the 2016 event is planned. Volunteers will run accelerometer stations near popular rides, show off physics demonstrations, and talk to students about what it’s like to study physics. And yes, volunteers will also have plenty of time to play.

The meeting will kick off with a meet and greet with board games, liquid nitrogen, and other fun activities on the evening of Friday the 4th, and finish after dinner on Saturday the 5th.
