Biography
I am a dedicated student at Marietta College, pursuing dual degrees in Physics and Computer Science as a Rickey Physics Scholar. My academic journey has been rigorous and rewarding, marked by my involvement in various research projects and leadership roles. Currently, I am engaged in a ZAPP program where I am working with low-temperature plasma used for silicon etching in industries.
My research experience is extensive and diverse. As an Investigative Study Research Assistant, I conducted in-depth literature reviews, extracted and analyzed data using statistical and machine learning tools, and maintained a comprehensive database for ongoing research purposes. During the ASCENT Summer Fellowship, I compared different machine learning methods on synthetic and real-world laser datasets, optimizing Neural Networks for performance across various data points and transitioning Random Forest models to GPU for improved runtime.
I have also worked as an IT Intern at Perry & Associates, where I managed extensive client data, handled emergency power outages, and improved the firm's IT infrastructure. My leadership roles include serving as the President of the Association for Computing Machinery, where I led initiatives that resulted in significant member growth, and as the Treasurer of the Society of Physics Students, where I managed budgets and directed funds towards impactful student programs.
In addition to my academic and professional pursuits, I have been an active Student Ambassador and Resident Assistant, engaging with prospective students and organizing community-building programs. My dedication to my studies and work ethic has been recognized through various scholarships and fellowships.
Following graduation, I intend to pursue a doctorate in plasma physics, where I aim to delve into computational plasma physics, focusing on simulation and modeling techniques essential for predicting and controlling plasma behavior. My ultimate goal is to contribute to the field of plasma physics through research and practical applications in a research lab or academic institution. In my spare time, I enjoy nature walks and massages, which help me stay balanced and focused on my academic and professional goals.
