Juniata College
2023
SPS Google Scholarship
I am going in to my junior year at Juniata College with a major in physics and minors in astronomy and mathematics. My work thus far has been in astronomy, specifically working on variable star photometry and investigating the O'Connell Effect. I have also dipped into the field of computer science by creating a data analysis pipeline for eclipsing binary system photometry and fourier analysis. This summer I will be participating in the REU program at UC Davis for particle physics. I am involved with the SPS and WIP chapters at Juniata, especially when it comes to hosting outreach programs for local youth and attending conferences. After receiving my undergraduate degree, I would like to go into computational physics and pursue either a master's or doctorate degree. Outside of classes, I love to hike, swim, and camp in the outdoors!
