Texas Lutheran University
2018
Jocelynn Bell Burnell Outstanding Leadership Scholarship
I am a senior at Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, TX and am majoring in Physics and minoring in Mathematics. I have been heavily involved with SPS since my freshman year. My sophomore year I served on an Advisory Council that assists the officers in planning and decision making. Throughout my junior year, I served our SPS Chapter as President and will be continuing my presidency for my senior year. SPS has given me multiple opportunities and I cannot wait to give back to this organization. I love to be involved with the outreach we do as a group and am excited to continue sharing my knowledge of physics. Most importantly, I love getting younger kids as excited about physics as me. I have also been involved with research since the summer after my freshman year where I conducted research at my university. After my sophomore year, I participated in an REU program at the Texas A&M University Cyclotron Institute. Currently, I am participating in the REU program at the University of Notre Dame. I plan to pursue graduate school for nuclear physics after completing my bachelor's degree.
