My week has been a bit of an adventure! This past week I have been at a conference in Oxford! Starting Friday afternoon, I was getting ready for and heading to Oxford, England.
At our tour of NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) last week I made several connections regarding energy storage, and this was the week to follow up on those.
This week began with a tour of The Optical Society, where one of the SPS interns, Michael, works. The tour involved seeing parts of the new office building that have been remodeled, listening to guest speakers, and ending the day with snacks in the OSA lounge.
Often, when we talk about the benefits of science outreach, we talk about the benefits the public receives: increasing science literacy, instilling wonder, and inspiring young people.
