Peyton Meyer
Patent Prosecution Associate
Hi, I am Peyton Meyer. I am an Intellectual Property attorney and practice in preparing and prosecuting patent applications.
I attended Rhodes College and majored in Physics (minored in Religious Studies). I was very involved in SPS during my time at Rhodes. In college, I worked as a research assistant at Rhodes in a medical physics laboratory looking at ultrasonic backscatter techniques in order to detect changes in bone density. I also interned in a cellular biology and anatomy lab looking at pharmacological modulation of osteocyte cell survival. After gaining some experience in scientific research, I decided to pursue my passion of science through a different outlet—patent law. During my time in law school, I interned at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in the illumination division, as part of their Summer Patent Experience Externship Program.
While I love science, I never felt like a career in academia or industry fit my personality. I would love to talk to undergraduates about another career path available to them (patent law).
