I took the 12th of July pretty slow; slept in, made a big breakfast, and didn't leave the apartment until about 1pm. I headed out to the International Spy Museum, which was quite fun!

After the 4th of July, I stayed close to home, skyped with my family, and did laundry and such. Nothing too eventful!

The weekend was fairly uneventful for me, which is a good thing. I definitely needed some time to take a breather, sleep, finish chores around the apartment, etc... I did go to the Air and Space Museum on Sunday, but it was super packed (which is normal, from what I'm told).

This past weekend was super fun! I went to go see Speakers of the House, a Baltimore boogaloo (aka, funk) group at Jazz in the Garden. Even though I got there a little late, I managed to snag a spot right by the stage!

I had a very green weekend! Kirsten and I visited the National Arboretum on Saturday and it was incredible.

This week has focused on testing out new demonstrations for the SOCK, planning for our classroom visit, and lots of networking! Monday was mainly taken up with writing up some new explanations for our demos, as well as figuring out what to take to the 3rd grade outreach event.

The final week at work was a bit calmer, as we eased into recess. Tours were plentiful – though I cannot imagine who would want to come to DC in August for their vacation. Throughout the week, I wrote my final letters and memos, constantly thinking: Will this be my final memo?

This week was the last week for all of the interns but me. We tried our best to do things together every night, which was a great way to say goodbye. I really do feel as if I have made some friends with the other interns this summer.

This was quite a week! Monday began early: a 7:15am arrival to the Pentagon, for our 8am tour. Since our group was so large, we had a tour guide all to ourselves. He was very impressive, and inspired me to walk backwards on all tours that I now give.

As we head into the middle of July, there is certainly a routine developing. Tours are given, memos are written and letters are drafted. Work is good, but there isn’t much that I think is particularly blog-worthy.
