William Jewell College
2015
Jocelynn Bell Burnell Outstanding Leadership Scholarship
I am a student at William Jewell College, triple-majoring in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. I have served for two years as President of the Society of Physics Students and am a University Innovation Fellow. I am strongly interested in leveraging data to solve problems through civic technology. My research experience has included a published experiment in viscous fluid dynamics performed at William Jewell College, a summer in computational materials science at Yale University and a winter at the University of Brussels performing computational fluid dynamics. I am preparing to spend this summer at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland. I plan to pursue a Ph. D. in physics with research interests in computational science. Beyond physics, I greatly enjoy playing jazz piano.
