Joseph Watson

Biography

I am eagerly looking forward to my senior year at McMurry University where I am pursuing an undergraduate degree in physics with an emphasis in mechanical engineering and a minor in mathematics.  I have always been fascinated with learning how things work which has inspired my interest in physics.  I am specifically interested in mechanics and the physics involved in mechanical systems.  I seek to improve mechanical systems to increase their performance and efficiency.  This next academic year, I will be studying efficiency for one mechanical system in particular as I conduct my senior research project on “Compound Bow Efficiency”.  I will also write my honors thesis on the results of this research.  As a current member of the McMurry University SPS chapter, I am very excited that I will also be serving as president for this next academic year.  I plan to graduate in May of 2021, and after graduation, I will be exploring graduate school opportunities or employment in engineering.
