Wade Cookston is a senior in the Texas Lutheran University Department of Physics, pursuing a degree in Applied Physics. Wade has been an active participant in the TLU Chapter of SPS since his freshman year, has been on the leadership team for the group for the past two years, and is the current Vice President. Wade helps plan and carry out weekly meetings of the TLU SPS and he has been involved in multiple outreach activities with the group, including Family Physics Night, an annual community outreach event that attracts over 400 people to the small campus at TLU. Wade also serves as the Vice President on the TLU Student Government Association, providing the unique perspective offered by someone heavily involved in STEM. Wade has attended and presented at several Joint Texas Physics meetings, where SPS Zone 13 meets with the Texas Sections of the APS and AAPT. Wade intends to pursue graduate school after completing his physics degree, but is not sure yet exactly what he will study, since he is interested in so many interesting things about physics!
