Ms. Marshall has recently joined the Northwest Earth and Space Sciences Pathways (NESSP) as the Program Manager. Hosted in the Physics department at Central Washington University, NESSP receives funding from NASA to bring NASA science via outreach, teacher professional development, and student engagement activities for grades K - 12 in underrepresented communities.
Prior to joining NESSP, Ms. Marshall was the advisor and recruiter for CWU’s Physics department from September 2015 to January 2022. As the principal point of contact for college, career, and academic advising for pre-college through undergraduate level students, she was instrumental in helping students pursue degrees and careers in physics, engineering, and astronomy. Her outreach and recruiting duties allowed her to meet with students in all levels of the K-16 pipeline throughout the state of Washington to discuss their interests, career aspirations, and educational goals.
Ms. Marshall loves doing unusual outreach activities. Since the Fall of 2019, Ms. Marshall and members of CWU’s SPS chapter have hosted the Annual Pumpkin drop. The Annual Pumpkin Drop has grown to include pumpkins decorated from several on-campus clubs and organizations as well as sponsored pumpkins from as far away as Seattle, Washington!
Ms. Marshall is currently pursuing an MS in Data Analytics at CWU. She completed a graduate program in Information Systems at Johns Hopkins University in 2000 and an undergraduate degree at Rutgers University in 1985.
