Adrián Duchesne Acevedo is currently a freshman Physics major in the University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras as an aspiring astrophysicist. He is currently occupying the position of secretary on his local SPS chapter, in which he is further developing his leadership skills.
Since very young he has been participating in different extracurricular activities as a boy scout and as a volunteer in the Ecoexploratorio museum exhibitions in 2018 and 2019. In which he has being expanding his knowledge in science and developing his communications skills. He also in his senior school year participated in the first STAR Academy in the Arecibo Observatory and as the president of his high school science club develop a school garden with the purpose of showing the students how agriculture works and its difficulties.
Shortly after pursuing his major, he decided to join the Society of Women in Space Exploration chapter in his university and the first chapter in Puerto Rico of Women in Physics in Mayagüez. After a year in participating in the WIP Mayagüez he accepted an invitation to be a founding member of the Women in Physics in Rio Piedras, his local campus. He is a very active member in the chapters and with every role he pursues to learn and take away any experience he can received.
